It works just fine except for some limitations in the Mixer controls. Now I can listen to my favorite Scooters in full sound! I’m posting should anyone spend time searching for a solution. The work was done by qualified technician, and only TV card was a bit problem. It is talkative like a fish. I c-mexia, some patch up need by Microsoft. Connection was there, but refused, nevergless was donloaded to Download Express and from there managed it.

I will have to look through my archived webpages, I MIGHT have it saved somewhere, not sure Apparently, different “revisions” of some of their motherboards contained different AC97 Audio chips. Glad you tracked it down.
That’s what makes these “chipset made by but drivers provided by” devices such a booger to find correct drivers for. Onblard, riverguy Hi there riverguy! The first four characters are the device ID, and the last c-,edia are the manufacturer ID, as far as I remember.

Glad you solved your problem Wanted to add a couple of things to the thread for future reference if anyone needs it. It may be another device that you might be able to remove and reboot, thus causing AutoDetect to reassign elsewhere.

INF was missing for some reason. Your driver inf and drivers definitely indicate C-Media.

Sorry, no, they don’t do that. Still no sound, what a blessed state. It does not appear to be a hardware problem, since the Win95 driver works fine. Wish I could tell you where i got the file from but I’ve downloaded so many potential drivers I don’t know recall.
Do you have those problems inside Windows, or oboard booting into DOS?
